Transforming DTU is a comprehensive campus development programme aimed at supporting DTU’s role as a world-class technical university. With more than 20 different building projects DTU is creating optimum conditions for research and education, with state-of-the-art research facilities and innovation-promoting learning and study environments. DTU is investing more than EUR 672m in its campus development from 2010 to 2021. The majority of the projects are being carried out at DTU’s main campus in Lyngby-Taarbæk, 15 kilometres north of Copenhagen.

DTU is situated 15 kilometres north of Copenhagen next to the highway and with the Greater Copenhagen Light Rail opening in 2024 and running through Campus with three stops, DTU will be connected directly to downtown Lyngby and railway (S-train). 

Developing to promote innovation

The comprehensive transformation of the University’s buildings and infrastructure  - Transforming DTU - not only include a huge amount of building projects aiming to create the best conditions for a world-class technical university, but also to promote innovation by developing campus and the areas around DTU to bring R&D companies closer to the University’s talents. Employing a strategic approach to real estate and business development, DTU will create optimal conditions for business partnerships, business development, innovation, and growth within the technical-scientific knowledge area.

DTU’s client organization brings projects from vision to commissioning. Our approach is based on outlook, insight, and strong construction skills. With inspiration from all over the world and experience from our own projects, we continuously work to renew and develop new methods that can create optimum conditions for research, learning, and the study environment at DTU. DTU Real Estate has a total of approx. 35 project managers.
