Egedal By

Egedal By is a new city being built on undeveloped land around the train station of Egedal. The new city will connect  the towns of Ølstykke and Stenløse, and form a new area of greater Egedal. The plan is for the city to have five different subareas connected by a green belt that links the town to the surrounding  landscape. The focus has been on establishing a dense,  vibrant, sustainable and smart city with room for both residential developments and different business and office buildings.

Egedal By is a new city developing from bare land around the train station Egedal. The new city connects  the towns Ølstykke and Stenløse, and forms a new greater Egedal . The city is planned with five different subareas, integrated through a green common, that links the town to the surrounding  landscape. The focus has been to establish a dense, living, sustainable and smart city with room for both residential purposes and different business and office buildings.

The area is being developed as part of a master plan for the whole city (Lokalplan 20).

The first part of the town, the Station Area, is intended to be a dense urban area with buildings for both residential and different business purposes. The plan is focused on creating a green and safe urban structure with an active internal life, and with sustainability and smart city solutions as natural parts of the planning. There is already a large store (3,500 sqm) and the new city hall and health centre  (18,200 sqm). The first two residential buildings containing 132 flats are under construction and will be finished in 2016. The Station Area is divided into 23 planned parcels of varying size, each containing buildings of between 3,000 and 13,000 sqm.

New sites will be offered to interested developers, construction companies and investors as development progresses.
