Helsingborg H+

H+ is the largest urban renewal project in Helsingborg in modern times. H+ will be Helsingborg’s new waterfront district. From an old harbour and industrial area, H+ is undergoing a transformation into a modern residential and business district. During the next 10-20 years it will become a compact, multifunctional and creative urban district. The mixture of iconic industrial buildings and modern architecture will create a built environment comprising densely-built blocks, intimate streets, squares and high-rises.

By 2035, H+ will have developed into a modern and sustainable area with space for new city residents, companies and creative meeting places. When fully developed H+ will comprise 1 000 000 square metres divided into residential, retail, offices and educational institutions, cultural and sports facilities, and home to 10,000 residents.

H+ is being transformed into a diverse and creative urban district defined by the unique mixture of iconic industrial buildings and modern architecture, and distinguished by creativity and high quality. The city wants to create an urban archipelago for people and companies seeking to develop new and exciting contexts. The plan is to create a combination of densely-built areas, charming spaces and squares, narrow streets and alleys, and green parks.

The district is already popular among students, businesses and creative entrepreneurs. Here you can find the Helsingborg Campus of Lund University with its 4 000 students, Sweden’s first digital accelerator and Think Openspace, which is part of Mindpark - a co-working location listed as one of the world’s best co-working spaces by IT World. Large companies such as IKEA IT and Trademax are also located in the area. Academia and business are joining forces to create a growth centre in health, science and education, as well as an attractive place to live, study, research and work. H+ covers approximately one million square metres and is almost twice as large as the current centre of Helsingborg. The area is intended to be a model for sustainable urban development with a social, cultural and physical environment for people and companies. The area will be developed into four new and unique districts.
