Nærum Business District

The business district of Nærum is ready to be transformed. Less than half an hour from the airport by car and just a 5 minute walk from one of the most scenic places in Denmark, Nærum is an ideal location for small and medium-sized technology and knowledge-intensive businesses. 

A vibrant town of about 5,300 inhabitants, Nærum is located just north of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and well connected to the central parts of Copenhagen via the Elsinore motorway (E47 and E55) and a variety of public transportation options. 

All the town’s amenities are within walking distance of the business district (shops, gyms, cafés, childcare, schools etc.). Furthermore, the UNESCO world heritage sites of Dyrehaven and Jægersborg Hegn are located right next to the town.

For several years the business district was dominated by the Brüel & Kjær company, a world-leading developer and supplier of advanced technology for sound and vibration measuring and management. Nærum is still the home of the Brüel & Kjær headquarters but production facilities are no longer located in Denmark. 

The business district thus primarily consists of properties converted from production into office space and some structures in need of refurbishment.  

In 2017 a new masterplan for the business district was approved, creating a framework for the development of a compact and forward-thinking business district fully embedded in the town.
